Maths, Figure me out!

Sup peps! At the start of the year Manukau didn't know each other that well. So our teacher Mrs Simpson did a activity with us to help learn about each other. We had to fill in every box then we had to replace it with a maths question. Here is my work 

I thought this activity was really hard but fun. I found it hard because we had to think about complicated and cool maths questions. I also found it fun because at the end we showed some people and we got right and wrong answers. Thank you for reading my blog post. Welcome to 2018!!

Sup peps Welcome to my first blog post in 2018. This week we have been doing Cybersmart. We were learning about the Kawa of Care. We had to find a statement to try and make a DLO if you don't know what DLO means it means Digital learning object. We were aloud to go in a group of 3 or 4 I choose to go with Lavinia and Shiya. Here is the google drawing that we made!!

I found this google drawing fun and hard. I found it fun because I got to do it with friend 's and because we could do any thing about the statement we choose. I also found it hard because we all had different ideas to put in one google drawing.it would be good if you could do a positive or thoughtful comment. Blog you later!!

The first settlers in New Zealand !

Today I will be doing my first blog post for the summer learning journey. The fist activity is  The fist settlers. We had to read a short story about a famous man in Māori mythology – Maui. Then in the text we had to find three interesting facts about Maui. If you would like to see the short story of Maui here is a link to the story. Link 

  

Here are the three interesting facts I found.

 

1.  Maui had no bait to go fishing so he used his own blood as bait.  

2. Maui was the smallest brother but he got the biggest fish. 

3. Maui got help by Murirangawhenua because he said the karakia. 

We also had to find other story's that we have heard. 

1. Every victory he wins he gets a tattoo on him.   

2. Only with the fish hook Maui can shape shift.

Wheels Day

Aloha, Everyone today I will be writing a blog post about Monday's fun wheels day. Wheels day was a day with no work just fun. Every year we do a wheel's day for fun. Last year when I was here we did the same thing but it was called wacky wheel's day. Every body really enjoyed playing and doing the activities. 

The first thing the seniors did was going in the pool, slip and slide and relaxing. Mr Ross was my groups teacher. Our group went in the pool first. it was really fun because the water was really refreshing and fun. Next we went on the slip and slide I was really cold because we had to wait for our turn on the slip and slide and the wind was kind of strong. after that it was time to relax sadly we had to get changed.

2017 Netball prize giving

 Hello blogging world

This year in Term Three the netball players had a prize giving which was only Waikowhai Primary  Netball team because it was our achievement from the season. The prize giving were for the people that was in the Netball team and the people that payed in the Netball zones. It started at  6 o'clock and ended at 6.30. When I went into the hall it had tables with lot's of food and there was cool back ground music. Almost every Netball player was there. 

  I really liked playing the Netball team especially when our team got the ball. And the Netball team couldn't have done it with our the wounder-full Mrs Jones and the one and only Mr Ross.  

I really liked doing Netball Because last time I did it I was to short and I didn't really know about Netball. Mr Ross really helped me to do netball. If I was allowed to Netball next year i would diffidently do it again. 

Celebration day slide show !!!!!!!!

Hello Bloggers, Today I will show you about the celebration day Thinking hats. The slide show has my thoughts and information from the day. Each hat was a different meaning, The black hat was negative, Yellow hat meant positive. Enjoy the slide show.   

I really enjoyed doing the slide. I found the black hat hard because there was hardly anything bad. The slide was easy and hard it was hard because you have to write lot's and I found it easy because there were lots of thing that I like doing at the celebration day and there it was pretty easy to explain what happened. 

Preparation For The Gala Day !

Aloha everyone today I am talking about what Manukau is doing for our Gala day. This term Waikowhai Primary is working very hard to make thing's for the Gala day. Manukau is making recycled paper. It would be great if you came along to our Gala Day on the 25th of November. Starts at 10:am to 3:00pm. We are making sure that what we are making is good for the environment. Our paper is going to cut and made into Christmas cards and seed bomb's to sell. After the steps there will be a slide show click on the link and 

What you need :
Ripped paper, water, hand mixer, bucket, photo frame, Window screen, bag,  

Step one:  Get a lot of news paper and slowly rip them into little pieces and place them into a big bag.Keep on ripping it until you think it's enough paper 

Step two:  Now you have all your bags with the paper in it. Grab a large bucket and a hand mixer. With the bucket pour water in it and make sure the water has filled the bucket half way. Now pour the paper into the bucket with water. With the hand mixer mix the paper and water together until it's not hard. 

Step three:  Grab the Window screen and make sure the paper is on the window screen drain the water and the place the wet paper on a little towel. When it's dry it's ready!

Reflection

I think it was hard to make the paper because you have to make sure you got enough paper on it or else it will rip. It was also fun to make paper because it is a new thing for me. Feel free to comment and check out the rest of my learning below
