Summer learning journey ( practice )

Kon'nichiwa bloggers of the world

Today Te Waka Ako and Te Ana Ako got introduced to The Summer learning journey. Te Waka Ako have done the Summer Learning Journey before. The Summer learning journey is a sight about a specific topic and you get about 60 different actives. For the practice activity we had to choose a country, I choose Japan because My mums Japaneses and  I know some things about Japan but not a lot.

3 interesting facts bout Japan

Japan is made of 6,852 islands
The highest mount in Japan is Mount Fuji
Mount Fuji stands at 3,776m.

For the third challenge we had to write letter to a Family member or friend.

Dear Brooklyn
How are you today?
For the holidays this year I was thinking about going to Japan at see my mums family and spend time with them. I had an extra ticket and I thought it would be great if you came and had a look around Japan with me. We will only be in japan for a week. If you would like to come please send me another letter.
Thanks a lot
From Amaya

Reflection

I found this practice challenge easy because my mums Japanese and I have already been to japan so I have a lot of experience in Japan. I think I would be able to do the Summer Learning Journey in the Holidays.

Goodbye bloggers of the world till I do another blog post on the Summer learning journey.

Athletics day

Kiorana Bloggers of the world!!

2 weeks ago on Friday Waikowhai Primary School had  their Athletics day. We were put into our house groups, ( pukeko, Ruru, Tui and Kea ) as well as age groups I was in the 10/11 year old's group. Athletic day was full of fun and challenging things. For the actives there was the usual High jump, long jump, sprints, 400 meters run and shot put but for the warm up like game there was hurdles, Fun throw, fun house relays, tennis and an obstetrical course.
Here are some photos of the fun and exciting day.

REFLECTION

Athletics day was a very hot and fun day. If I was allowed to do it again I might do it again. Personally I think I did really well because I haven't done athletics in 2 years.

Inquiry creation !

Bonjour bloggers of the world

In Class for inquiry we have been working on something for the bush at our school. We had think of a problem in our bush. I thought of rubbish because there is normally rubbish in the bush. Then we had to do a game-like thing called "crazy eights." Crazy eights is an activity you do in your book. Firstly you have to divide the page into eighths. You have one minute on each box to draw a type of thing that you think would help the problem. The cool thing about was that you could go
as crazy as you wanted  it to be. I thought of doing a rubbish race but then the next day we had to try make a prototype. A  prototype is a small practice design of your real design. That's when I changed it because I wasn't sure how to do it. So I changed it to a unicorn rubbish bin.

Reflection
I found this kinda confusing because I had to change my idea and so I sometimes kept on thinking of the rubbish track and I would muddle up my ideas. I also found it really fun because we go to do a fun experiment of how to make it.

Blood Tree Chronicles- Sanspell

Image result for sanspellAloha bloggers of the world
At the start of this term the senior syndicate has been doing a novel study based on a book from our reading class. I am in the yellow space for reading and I got the book that's called Sanspell.

Sanspell is a story about a girl named Abigail on her 13th birthday. So they have a two windows one sends them to the future and the other sends them to the past. Her mother sends Abigail to the future and she finds her self under a big tree in a snowy area, she remembers that her mother told her to stay and wait for some one to pick her up so she did.  Soon after three roads unfold in front of her eyes. about a minute later she gets picked up bye a big red truck. A old white haired lady with super blue eyes picked her up and said I am you Aunt June. Abigail went with her and her Aunt June told her all about the last time they saw each other. when Abigail gets to their home she meets her other aunts. Then they send her to her room and when she walks in she finds a big red tree and a young little boy. Then when she goes to her bed she finds a long story and starts to read it.
That's all I have read so far I have read the long story but Its to long to write.

Reflection
I think that this story is cool because its like a adventure and mystery book and I like those types of books. I am pretty excited to read the rest of the book.

Literacy Tumble T3 W7

Aloha bloggers
Last week Te Waka Ako started a thing called Literacy Tumble . The Literacy Tumble is a rotation of all the normal subjects like Reading, writing and maths but what's different is that you have a schedule and when you're not doing a normal subject you  have to do the Literacy Tumble.
Here is my Literacy Tumble and schedule

link to the slide

Reflection

I thought that the Literacy Tumble was really easy because all you had to do is do a blog comment and a follow up of reading, writing or maths.

Blog you later
